zero: it depends - sometimes but not 100%
there are obvious ‘method actor’ moments in his career but other not so clear ones - he talked several times about not being like that or roles not close to his life but he said many contradiction stuff so his own words do not help at this topic ;)

I totay agree with you about River constantly contradicting himself. It was as if he didn’t want to be pin pointed or cornered. I remember an interview he did for the promotion of MOPI and at the end River said something along the lines of “they might be all different tomorrow”, referring to his answers. So this brings me to the questions- did anyone really know River? (This doesn’t include his family)
